◉ Questions people ask

Good
questions

I’m a beginner (or a slow runner) — can I join?

Yes — MEZA is a beginner-friendly run club with no pace pressure. You run at your own pace, nobody gets dropped, and walking breaks are completely fine. Slow runners are the reason we exist.

Why join a run club instead of running alone?

Running with a group is the easiest running motivation there is: people expect you, so you show up. You meet people, the kilometres feel shorter, and the post-run coffee does more for consistency than any training plan.

How does a run club help me stay consistent with running?

Building a running habit is mostly about removing decisions. Same day, same place, same crew every week — you stop negotiating with yourself and just show up. That’s how you don’t quit running.

Where in the GTA do you run?

We run in Richmond Hill, Ontario — meeting around 360 Hwy 7. If you’re looking for run clubs in the Greater Toronto Area north of the city, that’s us.

Is there a run club north of Toronto so I don’t have to drive downtown?

That’s exactly MEZA. We’re a Richmond Hill run club in York Region — north of the city — so you get a real community run without driving to a downtown Toronto crew. Runners come from across York Region: Oak Ridges, Thornhill, Markham, Vaughan, Aurora and beyond.

What should I bring to my first run?

Comfortable running shoes, layers for the weather, and some water. That’s it — no gear list, no membership, no experience needed. Come to the meeting spot and run at your pace.

Do I need to sign up first, or can I just show up?

You can just show up. A free profile on the site is optional — it gets you notifications for new runs — but nobody has to register to run. Turn up at the meeting spot and you’re in.

Do you run through the Canadian winter?

Group runs pause for the winter and pick back up when the weather turns. Join the WhatsApp to hear when the first run of the season is — and to find people to keep running with in the meantime.

How do I meet people through running?

Just show up to a run. Everyone runs, everyone chats, and the WhatsApp group keeps the conversation going between runs. Most of our regulars came alone to their first one.

Does it cost anything to join?

No. MEZA is free — no membership, no sign-up fee. Even creating a profile on the site is free, and it gets you things like notifications for new runs. Easiest way to get started: create a profile and come out.

Do you do special run events?

We do themed runs and community events through the year, plus limited merch drops. Follow the Instagram or join the WhatsApp to hear about the next one.
